Beverly Hills, Orange County Eyelid Surgery / Blepharoplasty

Dr. K. Charles Kim, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon performs Eyelid / Blepharoplasty surgery as an out-patient procedure at the surgical suites in Beverly Hills and Orange County. Dr. K. Charles Kim offers complimentary consultations to patients that are interested in having the procedure performed.

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, enhances the aesthetics surrounding the eye, and provides a refreshed, natural look.

Blepharoplasty / Eyelid will help with the following:

  •  Sagging skin near the top of the eyelid that can impair how you see
  •  Fat deposits that create sagging under the eyes
  •  Additional skin and loose skin beneath the eyelid

The operation is usually done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia alone or conscious sedation.  The incision lines for eyelid surgery are designed for scars to be well concealed within the natural structures of the eyelid region.  Droopy conditions of the upper eyelid can be corrected through an incision within the natural crease of the upper eyelid allowing repositioning of fat deposits, tightening of muscles and tissue, and/or removal of excess skin.

Following your blepharoplasty or eyelid procedure, it is important to regularly apply ointments and cold compresses. All sutures are usually removed within 5 days.  Initial discomfort is usually mild and controlled with oral medication.

Bruising and sensitivity to light usually subside within 1-2 weeks.

Swelling usually disappears within 2 weeks.  Eye makeup may be used after 10 days.  Old makeup should be discarded as it may promote bacterial growth and postoperative infection.  Make sure to use sunscreen and dark sunglasses until you have healed up.  If you wear contact lenses, you can resume wearing them after 10 days.
